May a character from yesteryear return to help us resolve an issue in our?Twelve-year-old Marcie Horton isn't getting excited about paying a dull and lonely summer at her grandparents' river pad. That's, before woods near their house are confronted with improvement from the president of the college where her parents train. Marcie is led by the spirit of the Native-American woman as she attempts to uncover the secrets of yesteryear in her mission to truly save the generations-old woodland from development. Her work is complicated by her growing friendship with the college presidentis well-known child and the annual sailboat race, where Marcie sees himself fighting around the group of the rich summer-house homeowners from the nearby citizens.
