Description
In the aftermath of the intense assault that held developed India in 2002, Karsan Dargawalla, heir to Pirbaag – the shrine of the mystical, ancient sufi – starts to inform the tale of his household. His story starts in the 1960s: youthful Karsan is next in-line after his father to suppose lordship of the shrine, but he wishes to become “just ordinary.” Despite his father's pleas, Karsan leaves house behind for Harvard, and, ultimately, marriage and a lifetime career.
