Sonia Nadhamuni, half Indian and half Jewish National, discovers himself yanked out-of private-school and tossed in to the different world of public schooling, after her dad loses his job. For the very first time, Soniais combined history makes her friends request questions—questions Sonia does not usually understand how to answer—as she navigates between several well-known women who need her to test for the cheerleading team and additional pupils who are not area of the "in" crowd. In the same moment that Sonia is attempting to create new friends, she's coping with what this means to have out-of-function parent—it's difficult on her household to regulate to their changed circumstances. And then, oneday, Sonia's father goes missing.
