Description
For the very first time in English, Vladimir Nabokov’s earliest significant work, published when he was only twenty-four: his only full-length play, launched by Thomas Karshan and superbly converted by Anastasia and Karshan Tolstoy. The Misfortune of Friend Morn was created in the wintertime of 1923–1924, when Nabokov was totally unfamiliar. The five-work play—the tale of an incognito king whose love for the spouse of the revolutionary provides about the mayhem the king has struggled to prevent—was never printed in Nabokov’s lifetime and put in manuscript till it appeared in a Russian literary record in 1997.
